Wireless networks are the ideal solution for many households and
businesses. These networks negate the need to cut through walls or string
unsightly wires through ceilings or from the back of your computer.
Installation is far less expensive and intrusive than running cable
throughout a home or business.
Currently, DCNS installs wireless networks conforming to the
802.11a, .11b, or .11g standards, and conceivably any future wireless
standard.
The 802.11b standard is a good choice for
sharing broadband internet access throughout your home or business. 11b
hardware is currently very reasonably priced. The 802.11g standard is a
good choice for networks used to share files between computers, and is
backwards compatible with the 11b standard. 11g is rated at five times the
speed of 11b. The 11a standard is rated at the same speed as 11g, but
operates at a different frequency. All these standards have their
appropriate uses.
The 802.1x standard or a VPN can be implemented
for homes or small businesses with stronger security needs. See
wireless network security if you are unsure of
which level is suitable for you.
Are you having trouble with your current
wireless network? Are there areas of your home or business that cannot
receive wireless signals? Through careful use of antennas, wireless dead
zones can be eliminated.
Whatever your wireless needs, DCNS can
help.
